Help Shape the Future of Emerald Lakers Basketball Club
A Special General Meeting has been called for Monday 10 August 2026 to vote on a new constitution for the club.
After months of work by the Constitution Sub-Committee, members are now being asked to vote on the proposed rules that will guide the club into the future. Everything you need is in one place: the formal notice of meeting, a plain-English summary of the changes, the complete proposed constitution, and the proxy form.
Take a few minutes to read through it, then have your say by attending the meeting in person or appointing a proxy.
The meeting is also streamed online, but that's for viewing only, votes can only be cast in person or by proxy.
Proxies close at 6:00 pm on Sunday 9 August.
Younger Lakers Development Programs
Discover the Little Lakers and Laker Ready Programs:
The Little Lakers and Lakers Ready programs sit at the heart of Emerald Lakers Basketball Club, providing a clear and supportive introduction to basketball for young players.
Little Lakers is designed for children aged 4–6 and offers a fun, engaging entry point to the game. Sessions focus on movement, coordination and confidence, helping children learn basic basketball skills in a positive, encouraging environment.
Lakers Ready is for children aged 6–8 and supports players who are ready for more structured skill development as they prepare for junior basketball. The program builds on core fundamentals such as ball handling, passing, shooting and teamwork, while introducing simple game concepts and court awareness.
Both programs run together and are delivered by Emerald Lakers’ experienced volunteer coaches, ensuring a consistent and welcoming environment for all participants.

This is the starting point for young players to build confidence, skills and a genuine love of the game.
Little Lakers Program (ages 4-6):
Little Lakers is Emerald Lakers’ introductory basketball program for young children who are new to the game...
Designed for ages 4–6, the program focuses on movement, coordination and confidence in a fun, supportive environment. Sessions use simple activities and games to help children learn how to move safely on the court, handle a basketball, take turns and enjoy being part of a team.
This program is about building confidence and a love of the game, with no pressure and plenty of encouragement.

• Mondays, 4:00 – 5:00 pm (warm up from 4:00 - 4:15)

Lakers Ready Program (ages 6-8):
Lakers Ready is designed for young players who are ready to take the next step and prepare for junior basketball...
For children aged 6–8, this program focuses on developing core basketball skills while introducing simple game concepts such as teamwork, spacing and court awareness. Players work on ball handling, passing, shooting and movement in a structured but encouraging environment.
Lakers Ready helps build confidence, skill and readiness for Under 8s basketball.
