Sunday Competition – Winter 2026 Season Schedule

The Winter 2026 Sunday competition also begins shortly after the Easter school holidays and runs through to finals in September.

Season Start

The first round of the Sunday Winter competition will be played on:

Sunday 19 April 2026. Teams will then play regular weekly rounds throughout winter.

King’s Birthday Weekend

There will be no games scheduled on the King’s Birthday long weekend.

No games: Sunday 7 June 2026

Winter School Holidays

Winter school holidays run from 27 June to 12 July 2026.

Games are scheduled on the first and last weekends of the holidays, with a break in the middle weekend.

Games: 28 June and 12 July No games: 5 July

Finals Series

The Sunday competition finals will take place in September.

Semi Finals: 6 September 2026

Prelim Finals: 13 September 2026

Grand Finals: 20 September 2026

Finals and Holiday Planning

Spring school holidays begin 19 September 2026, which means Grand Finals fall on the first weekend of the holidays. We know many families plan travel during this time, so we encourage everyone to keep these dates in mind when planning holidays. If your team progresses through finals, Grand Final weekend is a special moment for players and teams, and we hope as many Lakers players as possible can be there to finish the season together.

If you already know you may be unavailable during finals, please let your coach or team manager know early so teams can plan ahead.\

Next Season

The Spring/Summer 2027 season begins after the school holidays.
