Three Emerald Lakers players recently travelled to New Zealand with Knox Raiders to compete in the SAS Australasian Easter Slam, one of the region’s major junior basketball tournaments.
Tiago Folloni, Griffin Kewish and Bailey Hamm represented their Knox Raider's
representative club with pride, stepping onto the court against strong competition from across New Zealand. The tournament brings together talented teams from across Australasia and provides young athletes with the opportunity to test their skills in a highly competitive environment.
For players, events like the Easter Slam are about far more than results. Competing against bigger, stronger teams challenges athletes to adapt their game, build resilience and continue developing their basketball IQ. Every game becomes a learning experience, helping players grow both individually and as teammates.
For Emerald Lakers, it is always a proud moment to see players progress through local basketball and onto larger stages. Watching our athletes represent their representative clubs and compete internationally reflects the hard work they put in at training, the support of their families and the guidance of the many coaches who have helped them along the way.
We are incredibly proud to see our Lakers players embracing opportunities like this and representing both the Knox Raiders and Emerald Lakers Basketball Club with such determination and spirit.
Well done, boys. 💚🏀
